Gives new meaning to buttery leather Jan 01, 2010

This bag is beautiful. Soft, supple, smooth and SPACIOUS. I was not familiar with the B. Makowsky line, though I did know a little about his wife, Kathy Van Zeeland. Once a handbag designer to the stars as well as a vice president to a major corporation, she began to design bags for "the rest of us" as in, ones that cannot afford thirteen hundred dollar bags. And her husband did the luxury line. And I definitely can say this bag is luxurious. The only reason I didn't give it five stars is because the lining is not sewn to the bag and it moves around (personal peeve). It is also very heavy. I carry around a big wallet, an umbrella, at least one book, keys, water bottle and other random odds and ends. When this bag is full it can be a bit cumbersome. All in all, definitely worth it. Gorgeous bag and it will not be the last B. Makowsky I purchase.

I recently discovered B. Makowsky bags, and have a new favorite brand! The leather on every one of their purses is so soft and of a high quality. I gave this particular purse 4 stars instead of 5 due to personal preference. While this is a well made, beautiful bag with awesome hardware accents, it was not exactly what I was hoping for. I should have known it would be large, based on the fact that it's described as a tote. But it is larger than expected. It is also a little heavy, probably due to that hardware which I like so much. It seems pretty comfortable once on the shoulder though. This tote could easily work as a carry on bag or small weekend bag. I will probably keep it because I love the style so much and the price was right.
