I chose this bag over a Cole Haan or Coach leather bag because B. Makowsky executes every detail with excellence. In comparing brands, I noticed that B. Mak not only uses rich, buttery soft (and thick!) leather for the bag- but the straps and handles of their bags are much nicer than other comparable brands. And their hardware is great, too. In checking out many different styles, including ones that were not quite my style, I was still always impressed by the hardware...sometimes the placement & types of hardware used on a bag would take it from looking "okay", to being a bag I would really like to carry!
I chose the Manila Shopper over the Manila Hobo because I just LOOOOVE the way it sits on my shoulder/body when I carry it. (The feel of a purse has become more important to me now that I have 2 toddlers, and can't afford to have a bag that doesn't stay put on its own while I'm busy holding a little hand, or is constantly slipping off my shoulder!)
The blush color is absolutely gorgeous, and I'm about to get it in "pacific" also. The "brandy" color in this style looks particularly beautiful, even though I'm not drawn to the brandy color in some other styles.
In short, I now love B. Makowsky bags, and every different style has sumptuous, yet very durable, plush leather. Great colors and exquisite detailing make these bags phenomenal!

This is my second B. Makowsky bag and I must say that it's the best one I've purchased. Like all other B. Makowsky bags this one had multiple multi-functional compartments and pockets. The straps are long enough that it swings up on the shoulders with ease. It's made of really nice soft leather and the gold accents add an air of class and bling without going overboard. I got so many compliments on the bag that I lost count. I would definitely recommend this bag for any busy woman always on the go and needs to carry quite a few things with her.

I originally saw this B. Makowsky purse at a very high-end Department store in December 2009. I loved it, but passed due to the retail price. Still, I coveted this purse and realized if I ever could find one again, it would be mine, regardless of the price.
I recently searched for this item on the Internet. Amazon.com offered the purse in addition to the best price...I was estactic! This item was my first purchase and I am very pleased.
The purse is beautiful and exudes quality in its appearance and workmanship. It hugs close to your body and isn't "boxy" looking, thus offering a "sleek" silhouette. Beautiful, soft leather. The hardware is in a brushed goldtone, which is much more complimentary than a high-polish metal would provide. My purchase was in the "Brandy" color, but the hardware is equally complimentary with all colors.
I love the organizational possibilities with this purse. Since I don't carry an excessive amount of items, everything stays well organized and at my fingertips. The exterior compartments are a real plus. It is so convenient to access the items I use most often (my keys, cell phone, membership warehouse card, etc.) without having to open up my entire purse.
I am not usually fond of "magnetic closures" due to security concerns. The closure on this purse is "exceptionall strong" and I feel assured my belongings are quite secure within.
I only gave this purse a 4-star rating due to the inherent B. Makowsky signature "squeaking" of the hardware/handles. Also, since the leather on the purse is so subtle, the purse doesn't always "seat" well when you put it on a hard surface/set it down; it can slouch around or roll on you. You just have to be extra mindful (maybe if you carry more items than I do, this wouldn't occur). But otherwise, if you can live with these couple of "quirks," the purse is beautiful and I just love mine!
