    Description

You'll want to have B.Makowsky's Monaco shopper with you at all times. Fine, rich leather gives this design professional polish, but the seaming, pleat, and hardware details add a little after-hours kick. Lots of pockets inside and out will organize small items brilliantly.

5Perfect for work!  Sep 26, 2010 By politicalsciencephd "politicalsciencephd"
This giant, roomy bag is perfect for work. Carry files and books with plenty of room to spare. Lots of pockets inside and out. The pockets on the front are not as secure as one would like, but it's not enough for me to downgrade this review to four stars.

Makowsky's quality construction has not failed me yet. This is my second large tote/shopper, the last one still in very good condition after some three years of use commuting into the city, but this was too good a deal to pass up.

3Beautiful, but not as durable as I had hoped.  Sep 06, 2010 By Surya
Pros: Buttery soft leather, price, size, style
Cons: Color on leather is wearing off unevenly, size (may be too large for some)

I have mixed feelings about this purse because the color is wearing off unevenly just 1 month after I purchased it. It still looks nice though, and the size, style, and price were exactly what I was looking for.

Pros: The feel of the leather is nice -- buttery soft. It's also very roomy and is a great commuter bag. It can fit papers, a change of shoes, and even a change of clothes, along with the usual purse essentials (wallet, keys, etc.). Also, I like the numerous pockets in this bag. It has 2 zippered pockets on the sides, two flap-type pockets on the front, a zippered pocket on the inside, and two open pockets inside (that I slide my lipsticks and pens into).

The price is also a pro, as a buttery soft leather bags of this size cost at least $250. Amazon had the cheapest price for this particular bag; even after I paid for priority shipping, I still got the purse for about $30 cheaper than any of the other e-tailers I checked out (overstock.com, etc.)

Finally, the bag looks quite stylish, and I've received numerous compliments on it in the month that I've owned it.

Cons: The biggest con is that the leather isn't colorfast. Just 1 month after I purchased it, I can see the tan color fading from certain portions of the bag. It's not very noticeable now, but I wonder what it will look like in a year or so.

The size is also a con, because it is much larger than it looks in the photo. On my 5'4" frame, the purse hangs from my chest area to past my hip, so it can be visually overwhelming. Still, I was looking for a huge daily commuter bag that I could throw everything into, so the size isn't really a con for me.

All in all, I don't regret the purchase, but am disappointed by the color fade so early in the life of the bag. I had hoped that B Makowsky would be an affordable, high-quality alternative to Coach bags, but because of the color fade issue, I know it's not.
