I purchased this bag as an alternative to a more utilitarian messenger bag and am very pleased that I did. The quality and finish are top notch. The burgundy color is a beautiful rich reddish-brown, and the leather has a nice substantial feel to it. I love the attention to detail - the quilted stitching, satin interior lining, feet on the bottom, and two-toned hardware all add a very finished look to the bag. I often carry several books, a laptop, and a small water bottle in this bag with some room to spare. The straps lay flat against my shoulder making it comfortable to carry even when full. I definitely recommend this bag if you need to carry a bit more with you and prefer something classic and chic to put it all in. And you can't beat Amazon's price; a bag of this size and quality at a department store would likely cost over twice as much.

I have several B. Makowsky bags and this one is just as nice as my other bags except it is very, very heavy. B. Makowsky bags are heavier than most because of his gorgeous leather and top-of-the-line quality. This bag was so heavy empty that it would have been extremely heavy after I added all of my stuff...and I carry a lot of stuff.
It broke my heart to have to return it. :( It was well worth the $119.20 that I purchased it for. I had free S&H with this purchase and was favorably impressed that I didn't have to pay return S&H charges.

This is my second Makowsky handbag, and like the first, it is a beautiflly designed and constructed purse. This bag is large, with several pockets, and my favorite design feature, a back slit-pouch for the cell phone. I plan to purchase more of this brand. For years I was devoted to Coach handbags, then they sold out and started putting their logo as advertising all over their products, which I think is tacky; and quit making the classic styles.
